How Shall We Cook to Eat a Healthy Meal?
The study “Attitudes and Perceptions Related to Healthy Eating” carried out by the EXACT Market Research Institute indicates that we generally learn the main rules concerning a healthy eating but we do not always adopt them.
This also happens due to the fact that we probably do not have enough time to put them into practice: 70% of Romanian people located in the urban environment aged between 15 and 60 refer to the fact that learning to cook healthy recipes requires more time. Moreover, 62% believe that one should read a great deal in order to be able to cook a healthy meal.
What are the rules to be observed in order to prepare healthy recipes? 40% of the respondents answered spontaneously that foodstuffs should be boiled by steam or simply boiled but they should not be fried and 28% believes that fruit and vegetables should be consumed while they are still crude. Among supporters of cooking with steam or followers of cooking by boiling, 37% have consumed nevertheless fried potatoes during the last week. The three principles of CNA company from the audiovisual environments (avoidance of fats, salt and sugar) resulted in a relatively reduced visibility: 16% consider that fat foodstuffs should be eaten as few times as possible, 10% mention that salt and alimentary mixtures should be avoided and only 4% believe that the quantity of white sugar to be used should be as little as possible.
Men with an academic background refer, to a greater extent, to the rule of steam cooking/boiling and the necessity to avoid frying foodstuffs. Women with an academic background indicate the need to consume fruit and vegetables as crude as possible and which are not thermally treated.
Persons with elementary education predominantly mention the need to observe the hygiene rules.
The study “Attitudes and Perceptions Related to Healthy Eating” has been elaborated by EXACT Research and Consulting Institute on a sample of 553 persons aged between 15 and 60 located in the urban environment, displaying a maximum error of +/- 4.2%. The standardized questionnaires have been applied via the telephone during the period 24th of March – 1st of April.
