The Nominal Group
The qualitative research of the Nominal Group type is a technique of identifying issues and analyzing needs carried out according to an inductive approach.
The “group” notion means actually an assembly of persons that interact verbally with each other only very little. The mode of communication and operation of the nominal group is established following a systematic and structural approach, entirely controlled by the moderator.
Advantages of using the Nominal Group-type research:
- It is applied rapidly, given it is well structured;
- Thanks to its structure, it may be applied to various groups of persons: children, teenagers, the elderly;
- It avoids the influences exercised by domineering personalities.
